Keith Redpath

In 2003, Keith Redpath joined the Harrington String Quartet and was appointed principal second violinist of the Amarillo Symphony. As a member of the Harrington String Quartet, he has performed across the United States and Canada, including a Carnegie Hall debut in 2004. These concerts have included collaborations with the country’s finest chamber musicians. He can be heard with the Harrington Quartet on the nationally released CD of the music of Daniel McCarthy on the Albany Records label.

After earning a Bachelor of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music, Keith continued his violin studies with David Perry at Wichita State University, earning a Master of Music degree, and with Sally O’Reilly at the University of Minnesota, earning a Doctor of Musical Arts degree. He has performed at many summer festivals including The Music Academy of the West, the Spoleto Festival (South Carolina and Italy), Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Quartz Mountain Music Festival (Oklahoma), Hot Springs Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, Chamber Music at the Barn (Wichita), Penn’s Woods Music Festival, Heidelberg Schlossfestspiele, and the Flagstaff Festival of the Arts. Keith has also been an educator on the faculties of the Sewanee Summer Music Festival (Tennessee), Eastern Music Festival (North Carolina), and Interlochen Arts Camp (Michigan).

In addition to performing for four years as the principal second violinist of the Wichita Symphony, Keith has performed in the Minnesota Orchestra, the Minnesota Opera Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony, and the Amarillo Opera Orchestra. Before joining the Harrington String Quartet in 2003, he was continually involved in playing chamber music and was a member of the Sedgwick String Quartet which performed at the Spoleto Festival in South Carolina and in Italy.

Keith currently teaches violin and chamber music on the faculty of West Texas A&M University. He enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping and bird watching as well as time at home with his wife, Daina, their son Peter, and dog, Sophie.
